I've seen a picture of a similar one for .22 made from a tire pressure gauge. Wouldn't necessarily recommend it (probably too thin-walled) but thought it was clever.
There is an AK made from a manure shovel out there in the blogosphere as well. They used the handle as the stock. I reblogged it in Dec. or Jan. sometime but you can also just google "shovel AK" and you'll probably find it.
